Brians is just 10 years old, and is already designing his own models, along with diagrams! I admire his ambition, which is why I enjoy sharing his work. He hopes to be a master at origami one day, which I think is pretty cool. Thank you, Brians, for granting me permission to create this video. Find Brians on Facebook and say "hi!" In this video, I'll be showing you how to fold an origami heart designed by Brians Tjipto Meidianto. You can stand the heart on any flat surface, and it even has a little flap at the front that can be used to hide a tiny note. ;-) I cut a strip from the sticky part of a Post-it® Note to write "Thanks!" It's a nice little gesture for someone this Thanksgiving, or for any other occasion when you want to remind someone that you're thinking of them (e.g., Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.). You can also use it as a picture holder (place a lightweight photo behind the flap), or attach another origami model to the flap.

Learn to make a standing origami heart. It has wings, AND it's a message holder! This is great for leaving yourself little reminders or little notes to your special someone. It stands on its own, and requires 1 square sheet of paper. The one I used in this video was a 6" square.
This design was inspired by Francis Ow's heart with wings, but differs in technique and has an added pocket to hold a message. |
