In this video, I will show you how to turn the traditional origami lily into a ball! It's stunning, and easier than it looks!
NOTE: I created 24 units (with 48 sheets of paper), but feel free to make less. I personally like the "over-crowded, dense, organized-chaos look," but some of you may like the "looser, more-gap-filled look." If that's the case, you can opt to make 16 units (32 sheets of paper; 2 rings of 4, and 1 ring of 8), or even as little as 14 units (28 sheets of paper; 2 rings of 4, and 1 ring of 6). But just a warning that the fewer units you make, the less "impressive/complex" the kusudama will look. I would recommend folding more! :-) If you want to learn to make just ONE lily, refer to this tutorial: http://youtu.be/Xb9t4JPpEok TABLE OF CONTENTS 2:30 - Lily Base 12:15 - Top 15:58 - Inserting Top into base 18:15 - Assembly of 24 units If the assembly instructions in this video is too fast, I have REAL-TIME, UNCUT assembly instructions at the end of this blog post.
