Brians is just 10 years old, and is already designing his own models, along with diagrams! I admire his ambition, which is why I enjoy sharing his work. He hopes to be a master at origami one day, which I think is pretty cool. Thank you, Brians, for granting me permission to create this video. Find Brians on Facebook and say "hi!" In this video, I'll be showing you how to fold an origami heart designed by Brians Tjipto Meidianto. You can stand the heart on any flat surface, and it even has a little flap at the front that can be used to hide a tiny note. ;-) I cut a strip from the sticky part of a Post-it® Note to write "Thanks!" It's a nice little gesture for someone this Thanksgiving, or for any other occasion when you want to remind someone that you're thinking of them (e.g., Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.). You can also use it as a picture holder (place a lightweight photo behind the flap), or attach another origami model to the flap.

Last minute Halloween craft, anyone? Trying to kill time before trick-or-treating? :-) Here's an impromptu, easy paper craft that you can make with the kids this Halloween! It's a Paper Spider!
The paper spider requires 2 square sheets of paper, that you later cut in half to form two 1:2 ratio sheets. It is held together by 1 standard sized staple, but can also be held together with a pipe cleaner, rubber band, glue, or a piece of string. I used two black Post-it Notes because that was the only black paper I had, but you can feel free to use regular origami paper, construction paper, copy paper, old magazines, or whatever you want. Dangle from a string to make this paper craft extra creepy. :-) |
